Although I didn't get to attend the web conference, I am excited to be taking this class. I feel like I am going to be able to give my students the key to success while using technology. My class has already created a logo, calendar, and class website in the first two weeks of school. We are going to weekly update our websites with pictures of the various projects we have in class. I am giving them the tasks of updating it, so they become familiar with it. I hope with taking this class, I can learn more ways of incorporating technology into my projects.

My group is working very collaboratively on our assignment. We have great leaders who have taken the reigns on getting things up and going. I hope I can contribute ample amounts to this assignment, hence I love mathematics. We are working on getting things lined up and figuring out who is going to do what. We added a new member to the team, which is exciting.
This masters' degree is helping me out so much. I am using what I have learned to go to work in the classroom. The kids are excited and just took home their calendars. Now, we are going to start working on space and I have an abundance in online resources to use. I want to introduce them to the real life of Google Earth. Then, we can make our own space crafts.

This week, I finally, got to talk to my teammates through Skype. We figured out what we were going to do, which is make a lesson of 6th grade probability. I am going to start the lesson off with an introduction. I am going to be using Quizlet.com, a video I found on the internet, and some other sources to engage the kids and help with the other parts of the lessons that I need. We met twice this week to figure everything out. I am really excited about what we have planned and need to get the rest of my lesson underway.

Eager to work!

After watching the video High Tech High Taking the Lead, I am more than eager to get my school on the right path. The example he used with the teachers was mesmerizing to me. I remember the 5th grade project I had to do, because I got to do research and know I know where Cyprus is located. The problem that schools still face is that there are teachers, who didn't grow up with computers. They simply have missed the gap. I don't agree that they shouldn't want to adjust and try new things, but there are those who just refuse to conform to the "new".
The project we are working on is really coming around. I am glad that I get to introduce the students to the topic, but it does put the pressure on to look good. I really wanted to use the technology ideas we came up with. I found some great resources that could have been used, but they seemed to broad for the topic. After we have completely finished the unit, I am going to take it to my 6th grade Math teacher and share the wealth with her.

This class keeps my fire lit for what I want to change!

This reflection is a little bitter sweet. I am excited to be done with the class, but I have became so close with my group that it is hard to not be able to work together. We worked so hard on this assignment and have talked so much that I feel like they have been around for awhile. Our unit has lots of vision for the students we are teaching. We worked really hard to incorporate lots of technology and found many resources for helping students with disabilities learn. I can't wait for it to all be published, so I can share it with my 6th grade math teacher. She is new to the building and I think she will be willing to jump on board with the lessons.

This class hasn't gotten me motivated even more to work hard and get my kids learning in new and brighter ways. Thanks for all the help and I look forward to learning more in the future!
